About Hungry Vegan

Hungry Vegan helps you find vegan and vegetarian places and read their menus on hungry-vegan.com, and request a table in the Hungry Vegan apps for iPhone and Android. Restaurants keep their own listings, menus and hours up to date, and answer the requests they receive, from the restaurant dashboard on the website. Hungry Vegan is free for diners.

By using Hungry Vegan you agree to these terms. Our privacy policy explains how we handle your information.

Your account

• You don’t need an account to browse. To request a table, sign in to the app with Apple or Google.
• The login on the website is for restaurant accounts only. We set those up when a restaurant asks to be listed; there is no sign-up on the website.
• Use your real name for bookings, keep your sign-in details private, and tell us if you think someone else is using your account.
• One diner account per person. You must be at least 13 to have one.

Requesting a table

You request tables in the app. A request isn’t a booking until the restaurant confirms it. You’ll see the answer in the app, and the restaurant may decline or later cancel, usually with a short reason.

• Only request tables you intend to use, and withdraw a request you no longer need so the table can go to someone else.
• Times are shown in the restaurant’s local time.
• If you’re running late or can’t make it after a booking is confirmed, contact the restaurant directly.

Allergies and dietary information

Menus, ingredients and “vegan” or “vegetarian” labels come from the restaurants. The app passes your allergies on with every request, but menus and ingredient lists can be incomplete or out of date.

Hungry Vegan can’t guarantee that any dish is safe for you. Always tell the restaurant about your allergies and check with them before you order.

For restaurant owners

• Your restaurant account is for the people who run your restaurant. Keep its password private and tell us at once if it may have leaked.
• Keep your listing, menu, prices and opening hours accurate, and answer requests promptly.
• Label dishes as vegan or vegetarian only when they are, and list ingredients as fully as you can.
• Only upload photos and text you have the right to use. You keep ownership; you allow us to show them on Hungry Vegan.
• Use guests’ booking details only to manage their visit, and handle them in line with data protection law.

Using Hungry Vegan fairly

Please don’t:

• send fake or bulk requests, or use someone else’s account;
• post anything unlawful, misleading or offensive, or anything that infringes someone else’s rights;
• try to break, overload or get around the security of the service (including the bot checks on the restaurant login), or copy listings in bulk.

We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these terms. If we do, we’ll tell you why when we can.

Availability and changes

We work hard to keep Hungry Vegan running and accurate, but we can’t promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or stop features from time to time. If we make important changes to these terms, we’ll update the date at the top and tell you in the apps.

Our responsibility

Restaurants are responsible for their food, service, listings and the bookings they accept. We’re responsible for running Hungry Vegan with reasonable care. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have by law, or our responsibility where the law doesn’t allow it to be limited.

Ending your account

You can delete your diner account at any time in the app. Your profile and sign-in are removed straight away; restaurants keep the booking records they received. Deleting your account doesn’t cancel upcoming bookings, so withdraw them or contact the restaurant first. To close a restaurant account, email hello@hungry-vegan.com.

Law and contact

Which law applies to these terms, and where disputes are handled, will be confirmed when this draft is reviewed.
